meguiars apc+ discontinued?

Went to my local supplies stores that are paint supplies stores that carry meguiars products, I have been wanting to try the apc+ with my new tornado black I got for Christmas to see what the rave about the product is and if its truly as good as everyone says..

Now the both stores carry meguiars apc D101.. That's not an issue getting at all I then ask if they can order from their distributor the D103 the meguiars apc+ they search to order it and no such luck not showing up.. I've had both places call meguiars direct and the reply I get back is "it's been discontinued"

I've read various threads between here and the meguiars forums stating it was discontinued but its not and its verified but meguiars employees themselves but this is the past year or so..

So what's the deal?!

There are a few limited release products that only 2 or 3 stores get. APC+ was one of the products, probably still the case with it.

I noticed that ads has it but meguiars direct doesn't?? If meguiars direct has it I sure cant find it. Made an order with ads a few days ago and didn't get any apc+ since I have half a gallon left. Day later I noticed meguiars direct didn't have it so I thought they discontinued it. I use that stuff on everything so I hope your right murr!

i really hope it is not going to discontinue. I like it very much. My wife use it to clean the house too.

Cant find any other threads on this so I figured I would bring this one to the top. Seems one of my favorite go to products has been discontinued. From its popularity, I'm not sure how a company could do something like this and think it was a good idea? Maybe they wanted to bring it out in a small spray bottle and make more money? Hmmmm

I just got back in the scene and found out my 2 of my favorite meguiars products M80 and body scrub was gone! Sure would be nice If they did bring some of the discontinued detailer line back into consumable line!!!!!!

APC+ will still be offered in the 5 gallon. If the 1 gallon was still offered, the price would have gone up significantly. There are probably some places like Autogeek that might have remaining 1 gallon stock.

Grabbing this old thread just for the fun of it. I've been buying APC+ in 5 gal containers for the last several years, certainly since this thread was started. Now my supplier tells me it is indeed discontinued.

So, my question for Meguiar's is ... What all purpose cleaner will take the place of APC Plus with regard to its low foaming characteristic. Regular APC (green) is great stuff, partly because it gets a little foamy, but it's not good to use if you're sucking it up in an extractor.

Yes, this thread is a bit old now and some things have indeed changed. APC+ was discontinued in all but 5 gallon size a year or so ago, but even that is now gone. We definitely want to replace it but obviously we'd need to keep the performance level as high, if not higher, with any replacement. Unfortunately we have no time line for when this may happen.

D103's real advantage over D101 was the lack of foam when used in an extractor. Used with a Tornador, it's doubtful that you'd seen any real difference between the two.

Good info...and from Meguiar's no less. I knew they weren't offering the gallon sizes, only 5 gallons available, then it too disappeared. Couldn't find out why? I don't detail too often, so by the time I finish the 2 gallon I have left Meguiar's may have another apc out to replace it, so I'm good to go.

What am I missing? Ur definitely going to replace it because there's great demand. You just need to make sure the replacement is at least same performance. SO JUST KEEP IT. What's the missing piece of information?

I'm with you on this one Larry. Unless it's a huge money drain, why not continue to make it until the new, better, next generation APC is conceived?

I may be off here but I do have a idea of why it was discontinued. Many people used APC+ for carpet cleaning because of the low foam characteristics. They discontinued it about the same time they brought out their dedicated carpet cleaning chemicals. They did not want to compete with themselves. From a business stand point they can now sell you 2 products,one for general cleaning and one for carpets, instead of 1 all around chemical. Pretty smart.
