Hello. I bought the meguiars DA polisher and six pads. 3 W-8006 Polishing pads and 3 W-9006 finishing pads. what is the best way to clean and maintain these pads? these are not the 2.0 pads by the way. which ways can they be dried also? thanks in advance

These pads can not be thrown in the washer like their 2.0 cousins. These can only be washed and dried by hand. Use a dedicated pad cleaner such as snappy clean in a 5 gallon bucket to wash the pads. okay. Will they get contaminated by letting them set out? i kinda heard that if u let em sit out (meaning the part of the pad that kisses the paint) facing up any dust or dirt can land on them and be "contaminated". Feel free to give me any thought and suggestions.Comment

If they do get contamination run a lint roller over the face of them prior to use. You can also iron out your microfibers with a lint roller to help minimize the linting from the towels....Practice doesn't make perfect, the dedication to achieve perfection makes perfect. "Smack"

Okay. and you mentioned a pad cleaner. Are you referring to that powder stuff called Detailers Polishing Pad Rejuvenator? I see this on autogeek.net and detailing.com. Or are you talking about something else?Comment

DP polishing pad Rejuvenater is fantastic stuff and that is what I use in my Pad washer to wash the pads by machine. http://www.autogeek.net/dp730.html. You can also get something similar but in a spray as well, http://www.autogeek.net/xmtpadcacofs.html, or http://www.autogeek.net/pad-cleaner-combo.html or http://www.autogeek.net/pad-care-combo.html. Okay awesome. Its all good..the more info i get the better =]. I washed them in a bucket of water with microfiber detergent called micro restore..now is this something ideal or is it recommended to use something specifically for MF's and foam pads?Comment

I use Pinnacle's version to wash my foam pads and MF discs after they have soaked in DP pad detergent. But first you should use a foam pad cleaner such as the examples I have listed to break up the compound/polish/wax.Practice doesn't make perfect, the dedication to achieve perfection makes perfect.
