I just had a rear bumper painted on an older car after being rear ended. The job was awful. In one spot as the bumper tapers in towards the trunk, there is a BLOB of paint. The size of a pea. Around a curved edge, there is also some "lines," like where they did some repair and it shows through?
Oh, they also left some plastic gasket hanging out of the gap between the bumper and the next part of the car. Really amazing.
You sure don't want to have to have body shop work done. I had a tiny spot on a newer car i was going to get corrected a few years back. I'm so thankful I didn't.
I'm sure there are excellent body shops out there, but if you don't get a good one, you sure don't get anything like factory job.
(Maybe I just had bad luck). They did all these screw ups with the bumper off the car too.
