Just read their website, it is like another coat of clear coat and no more waxing on the car. Hard to believe.

You don't think this is possible?
Scientist are at work right now developing things you couldn't even imagine so why wouldn't this be possible?

anyways.... OC 2.0 is a cross polymer that is extremely hard and doesn't come off easily, (hence, harder then OEM clear coat) so application is extremely important.

    Here's some info from them:
Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 is the most advanced polymer system that adds a permanent layer of clear coat over the automotive finishes.

Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 provides better scratch and mar resistance, better UV resistance, better chemical etch resistance, and has better release properties than factory clears. Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 therefore keeps your car clean longer and continues to bead water and sheds dirt for years.

Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 can be used to protect the following surfaces:

    • Painted Surfaces
    • headlights
    • wheels <--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    • plastic trim
    • bumpers
    • aluminum & chrome surfaces

No, personally I don't believe it. I'm sure OC 2.0 is a great product, but to say that it "will out last your car" is a big call IMO.

Those claims about its scratch, UV and chemical resistance may well have some truth, but to say it's going to outlast your car is, for me, hard to believe. All the reviews I have read about the product are saying it lasts 2-3 years - hardly the lifespan of an average car.

Also, what is being developed by scientists and what is actually on the market in the form of products such as OC 2.0 are two very different things.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Maybe one day the car manufacturers will deploy similar technology.

Many of us are reluctant to believe this because over the years, we have seen so many products which claimed but failed to deliver this result.

yea maybe the out last your car was a bit much but I though you were refering to it being harder then OEM paint, that is what I was talking about.

    Re: Opti- Coat 2

I just posted a thread about this very subject before I read this one lol anyway have any of u applied this to your own vehicles and if so which one the opticaot 2.0 is more the consumer grade and optigaurd is the pro line the optigaurd supposedly dries faster and harder than the opticoat 2. Also what are your personal thoughts if you have applied and seen any results. I ask because I have mixed feelings about theese products and I live in the midwest where vehicles are more susceptible to harsh weather and dramatic climate changes

Opti - Coat 2.0 is the pro version and my go to.
it's the better of the 2. imo
This product is assume. It is harder than the paint on your car now and perfect for your situation.
I haven't put it on my cars yet. I really don't detail my cars to much do to the fact I do it all day long.
