I don't have my da yet but just wondering because I been looking at all the pads &I have been detailing by hand or with rotary but ok for example would u use something like uc with a foam cutting pad on serious defects or a polishing pad

I ME, i have use UC with a LC orange pad and finishing well. Although i wish i had UP as well, am very sure it would have been some before LSP.

You can use the foam cutting pad but you have to be careful of hazing and micromarring the the paint. You always want to do a test spot so you can figure out your best plan.

I have a foam cutting pad for my DA but have rarely used it. I have been able to do most corrections with my foam polishing pad or the DAMF System. It's all about slow arm speed and pressure, along with the proper product.

Thanks I was hoping to keep it simple just want to keep it to maybe 2 or 3 different pads by the way what is all involved with the microfiber system & y would that be any better to use

DAMF system is a two step process involving D300 cutting compound along with the cutting disc and the D301 and the polishing disc. This system provide heavy cutting that provides rotary like results with out the damage that a rotary can do if you don't have the training and experience. Its a great system but varies slightly in the way it is used compared to a normal foam pad and product setup.

I along with many have achieved great results from the system.

Thanks for the info after I read the replys I looked at alot of videos on the mf system and think im sold it seems that takes alot of the guesswork out of defect correction as far as the vast array of products and pads is concerned so after the second step is there any need to polish and or wax or is that all done in the second step with the mf system

Its all done in the second step. The D301 Finishing wax is what you can use after D300. I have used M07 Show car glaze after D300 then NXT 2.0 x2 and I have used the D301 after D300 its all on what look your going for. D301 allows for a very fast applyin process where you can do the entire car in a matter of minutes.

I appreciate the info I am looking to get either the megs or gg da but for the time being, and because it was in stock I got a da from harbor Freight and it is really not too bad and it was only $60. I did a test on the hood on a black car with it. Doesn't come with any pads but I picked up some shurhold 6 1/2 in pads from auto zone and so I did the hood with m205 then with a different black pad ulw &I gotta say the results were way better than expected. The range is 2000 obm to 6400 obm and it has a 5.7 amp motor I did 205 on speed 5&6 &wax on speed 4 .I had no problems with the polish but the wax when I tried on anything but speed 4 with just the weight of the machine the pad seemed to just vibrate at times so what is recommended speed for wax

Well for wax its setting 1-2 so about 2000 opms if I'm not mistaken.
