    Qui(c)k Detail - DA Microfiber Correction System/ Flex 3401

    What would you do if you had just half a day to restore car's paint ?
    I decided to go the old known way - DA Microfiber Correction System. To speed everything up even further I used it with Flex 3401 forced rotation dual action polisher.

    1. Wash - Nomad 2 Go + Optimum No Rinse;
    2. Clay - consumer clay bar 50g + Quik Detailer;
    3. Clean/ Prep - D300 Correction Compound, 6" microfiber cutting disc, Flex 3401 Speed 3.0-3.5;
    4. Polish/ Protect - D301 Finishing Wax, 6" microfiber finishing disc, Flex 3401 Speed 2.0-2.5 .

    Tight areas cleaned/ polished/ protected with D300/ D301 and 4" LC Hydro Tech buffing pads: tangerine (polishing) and crimson (finishing).

    Exterior trim - Ultimate Protectant;
    Wheels - Gold Class All Wheel Cleaner;
    Tires - Endurance Tire Gel.

    Using forced rotation dual action polisher with DA MF Correction System requires some technique adjustments: less down pressure and slower machine speeds.
    Arm speed has to be slow for defect removal - around 1" per second.

    Another very important detail is not to use too much product, with DA MF System actually less is more. I've started with too much compound on the disc, clogged the surface and had to remove it form paint and disc. After that initial misjudgment everything went smoothly. The final results were very good with 90%+ defect removal and sagnificant gloss restoration.

    Nicely done, Greg! That little Fiat wagon looks great - dripping wet and highly reflective. Excellent tips on using the DAMF on a forced rotation tool, too!

    The red looks fantastic! It looks very wet and a mile deep.

    I was very pleased with the final results after spending just 6 hours on this vehicle.

    Thank you, Mike.
    I guess I'm one of a few people who regularly use DA MF System with forced rotation tool.

    It was a fun vacation indeed and I wanted to give some gloss to that paint.

    Greg, nicely done.

    I had an opportunity to try out a Flex DA. a real step up from my Porter-Cable. The owner indicated he would prefer it without the soft start. What's your opinion?

    Thanks, David.

    I actually like the smooth start feature. Maybe because my first rotary buffer was Black & Decker WB106, and it didn't have that feature, pulling my arm like crazy during start ups. Makita 9227 and Flex PE14-2 both have smooth start.

    Flex 3401 is at approximately 80% of rotary buffer power and it's a big step up from traditional D/A.

    Wow looks great Greg. I just purchased a new 3401 and cant wait to use it. I picked up the new LC Hybrid pad lineup to go with it. I would like to get some 6 inch mf pads for it though.

    Congrats on your 3401 purchase. That tool is going to speed up your detailing projects. It works great with LC Hybrid System and Meguiar's 6" MF discs.
