Thanks for reading this, I need some advice. I just had my Jeep painted one week ago with Nason black base and 3 coats of Nason clear. I have orange peel and some dust. I started wet-sanding with 3M 1500 grit paper soaked overnight. I started on the hood because it is off the body and would be the easiest to refinish if I botch it.
I plan on finishing the hood with 2000 and then 3000 grit. I have no experience with a rotary so I am about to purchase a DA orbital and whatever pads and compounds I need to polish. I know it will be difficult (more effort and time) to complete the job with an orbital but there is no way I want to tackle the irregular shapes of a Jeep body with a rotary. I am not looking for a show-car finish, however I do want to do the best job I possibly can.
I have read all I can on this forum and others, but if anyone could push me in the direction I need to go in terms of a plan of action, pads and compounds, etc. I would greatly appreciate it. I have no pics but the dust and peel is really not that bad considering its over black base.
Thank you for your time!
