Keeping cracked windshields out of sun?

I just got my windshield repaired. I couldn't believe how much of the crack has "disappeared;" they obviously did a good job. Hope it lasts.

Which brings me to my question--after finding out that the business that was to do it, would take a couple of days to do the job, I expressed concern that the crack might grow beyond the quarter size during that time. The guy on the other end said that I should crack the windows and try to park indoors if I could, to minimize the heat, which was what made cracks expand.

Was that good advice? More to the point, would taking extra precautions (like trying to park in shade) do anything for my chances of keeping this crack contained? Or is it simply a matter of, if the repair job was good, that should take care of the crack, and I don't have anything to worry about? I live in a desert region, where for several months a year, cars parked outside can attract lots of heat.

I really have no experience on the matter but it does make sense I guess, trying to minimize expansion and contraction. It certainly can't hurt, maybe for a few days for the repair job to set in.

Heat might help it grow but the real culprate is the twisting of your car. When you drive ove bumps a turn you twist the car a littel and just enough to tweak thee glass and make the crack grow. All in all it shoild grow anymore but it might and there's not much you can do to prevent that except stop driving it.

I agree with "please wash me" that heat may be a factor but it would be a distant 2nd to vibrations through the car from bumps in the road. One decent bump can be enough to set the crack off beyond the parameters of a safe repair.
Last time I had a crack repaired the repairer gave me a sheet of circular stickers that could be placed over the chip/crack to reduce the chance of the damage becoming worse. I don't know if or how well they work because I haven't had another crack since I got them.
I didn't take any particular precautions after the repair, I just drove as normal and all was well.

Apply circular sticker, like a tape? How long did you keep this sticker on your windshield?

OK looks like I just won't worry about it.
