As an example, I cleaned my weekend toy after driving it back from Las Vegas in a downpour and it worked beautifully. You can imagine how dirty the car was after 275 freeway miles in pouring rain, on a road that gets lots of truck traffic but hadn't seen any real rain in months. You would never use a traditional quick detailer on a car that dirty, but UWWA was designed just for this purpose.

For a nice weather only cruiser you certainly can use UWWA, but something like UQD or Last Touch is going to be far more economical. Then again, some of us here at Meguiar's have been so taken with UWWA that it's now our go to QD spray!
    Mr. Stoops,

I am about to purchase LT as a replacement for UQD. How does LT differ from UQD and what is the recommended dilution ratios for claying and using as a detail spray? I am tired of making multiple trips to the store to buy more UQD and would like to use LT if it is as good or better than UQD. Please....anybody feel free to chime in if you have experienced using both products.

I have not experienced both products cause I like Last touch so much with beautiful results. I almost don't need to use it anymore since I have been using the DA Microfiber system so I save on product so much. Speaking of, try Autodetailingsolutions.com Buy a gallon of the stuff. It's pretty reasonable and you don't have to keep running to the store. Good luck!!!

The direct replacement for UQD in bulk is M135 - same hydrophobic polymers, same slickness, etc. Last Touch does not have the hydrophobic polymers but it can be diluted 1:1 with water for use as a clay lube, or straight as a mist & wipe quick detailer. It has a very high lubricity formula so you can even get away with adding a few ounces to a couple gallons of water and using it as a rinseless wash in a pinch, although it's not nearly as effective in this use as D114 Rinse Free Express Wash is.

Last Touch is hugely popular because it's great stuff, but if you really want the hydrophobic polymers you'll need to go with M135.

    Re: Last touch

I don't know about that polymers in the different products, and if you're looking to get a direct replacement for UQD, then I would follow Mike's advice in the above post. However, if you are simply looking for more economical way to perform quick cleanings and also use as a clay lubricant, I would highly recommend D114 Rinse Free Express Wash. I use it diluted at 1:128 ratio for my quick detailer (which is the recommended dilution ratio for using it as a waterless wash on dirty cars). I love the way it works, and I can literally get over 100 gallons of a quick detailer out of one gallon of RFEW, so for the price it absolutely can't be beat.

I use it quite liberally when washing cars since it is so economical, and at the same dilution ratio, it is also excellent as a clay lube. Plus you get it's original use as a rinseless wash if you have an even dirtier car and want more water. With this one product you can essentially get three different products.

I love Last Touch, but I am working my way through my last gallon and probably won't get any more simply because RFEW is such an adaptable product.

    Re: Last touch

Last Touch is great stuff. It has good slickness, I find that upon first application, it feels slicker than UQD. UQD does feel tacky at first, after the 12 hour cure time as required in the instructions, it feels a bit slicker, there's still some slight tackiness to it, but it does "feel" tougher than Last Touch, and the water beads like it has some wax on the paint. The shine is a bit better with UQD, but Last Touch runs it very close

Can last touch be used as an aid to dry a wet car? Something like a wax as u dry product, just curious since it has no polymers unlike UQD

You can use LT when drying a car, but you might find a better result with something like D156 Synthetic Spray Wax or it's consumer equivalent, Ultimate Quik Wax. Using one of these products you get the same benefits when drying, plus you leave a very nice polymer/carnauba wax behind in the process.

    Re: Last touch

I always get great results doing a quick wipe to get most water off the car, and then a final drying wipe with the spray wax.

Thanks Michael and Murr, I always wanted to try UQW while drying the car but always thought that the moisture could and will affect the bonding and durability of the spray waxes with all the polymers that seem to be sensitive to certain conditions. Thanks a lot, I will try it.
