Fix-a-Flat Explosion

So, I had a new experience today - rarely a good thing when these occur. I am working on a guys truck and moving the front seat back to clean all the way under it. I quickly found out he had a can of fix-a-flat under the seat and the movement of the seat pinned it against something else, poked a hole on it, and the stuff started spraying everywhere. It took me few seconds to realize what was happening, but I threw it out of the car (and got covered with stuff in the process). I proceeded to clean the whole area with my steam cleaner and extractor, and from what I can tell it has all been removed.

However, the odor is quite pungent and odor eliminator doesn't seem to do a whole lot. Anyone worked with a similar issue and have any suggestions? I'd really like to try and leave his truck without the smell, and I'm hoping it dissipates before I finish, but thought I'd ask to see if anyone had any advice. Thanks.

Call them.......Googling brings up plenty of the same incident but no sensible resolution.

Call the client and explain what happened. Also call fix a flat they wouldn't want to get sued over this. Because serious bodily injury could have occurred.

That's a bit silly. When you poke a hole in a pressurized can it depressurizes, regardless of brand or maker. There is no primes for a lawsuit; Fix-A-Flat does not advocate putting a can of their product under your seat and puncturing the can.

Yeah, that might be going a little too far with the whole lawsuit stuff, but who knows. I was mobile and out at the guys house that day, and after cleaning the whole mess up really good I was constantly hitting the affected area with odor eliminators and allowing them to dry (luckily it was a hot day) and then reapplying. I didn't have the means to get another machine their as I was in the middle of absolutely nowhere and the client wanted to use the car later that afternoon. By the time I left the client said that he couldn't even notice the smell anymore (I could for sure, but that might have also been because of the fact that the stuff was all over my clothes, so I couldn't judge it right), and I just left the windows halfway unrolled to aid the airing out process. I gave him $10 to buy a new can of the stuff and it was all good. Thanks for the suggestions though guys, it is appreciated.
