Hi ,well i decided to paint my van myself on a mega budget .
The van is a 19 vw t4 people carrier type van with dull white paint,it has had a good respray before I got it but now it has gone flat ,dull ,I do not know what type of paint is on it.
No rust apart from wheel arch rims which I have sorted.
I bought 5ltrs of satin black military style paint off ebay ,now I know tanks and jeeps ect dont have satin finishes but it is sold as military style
so I am guessing its not real tank paint.
Anyway its sold for brush or roller application the site says just scuff up the existing paint ,no need to prime just clean,scotchbrite and roller it on.
So I did.
First off I really cleaned the van then I flatted it off with sanding blocks and soapy water the grit was medium but I really dont know what grade -they were 3 for

So anyway I need to know the best way to get roller lines out ,I am not really bothered about the orange peel but there are some noticable lines and blemishes,
do I wet sand it and buff up ,if so what with ?

Have a look at this thread - it's amazing what can be done with this type of paint job.

By the way, we've combined your two threads and deleted the duplicate. We think the reason your original post was truncated is due to you composing it in another word processor and then copying/pasting here. The forum software doesn't seem to like that much, even though the good folks at vBulletin claim otherwise. Sorry 'bout that.
