I came across a can of Hot Shine High Gloss Tire Coating, and I really like the way it works. I was using turtle wax foam tire shine before, and it dripped all over my wheels. After waiting for the foam to soak in, I had to scrub each wheel twice to remove the tire dressing residue. The aerosol spray for Hot Shine is a lot easier to apply. However, I noticed that my michelin warranty information recommended against petroleum-based cleaners/dressing.
The heptane contained in the Hot Shine seems a lot less than the kerosene odor of all season dressing. Currently, I clean my tires with bleche-white, and after doing some reading on the forum, I'm thinking about switching to an APC. Anyways, what's Meguiar's opinion on petroleum-based dressings and cleaners on tires? I read through a few threads already. One seemed pretty relevant and technical, but it was focused on silicone. Are there any details about the petroleum content in Hot Shine?
