More "OOOMPH" From White

I've been detailing and keeping my vehicles to a very high standard for several years now. I recently purchased a 2012 WHITE Colorado. Im not really all that happy with the color, but just couldnt walk away from the deal on an otherwise perfectly equipped vehicle.

I would like to find just a bit more sparkle from it. To date, home from dealer.....wash, clay, wash, #80 with DA, followed by 3 THIN applications of NXT 2.0 spaced 24 hours apart. Then 2 applications of Collinite 476S. (spaced 24 hours)

It looks really nice, but I cant help thinking I can find something more. I'm considering #7 followed by 2 thin applicatons of #26? I'm open for ideas.

What kind of white is it?
My G is an Ivory Pearl white and my Subie is a Satin white Pearl, after a quik detail, both my vehicles really "pop"
I assume your Colorado has a more "basic" white? therefore may be a lil harder to get the extra ooomph?

Its...note the underline.....WHITE !! Its blindingly white in direct sunlight. This is one time I might accept just extra extra shiny over depth of reflection. I've attained quite a bit of depth, but to my eyes its still just a boring looking truck sitting on the outskirts of the parking lot.

Thanks 1994Gen1L, but Ive already done and exceeded that. I doubt that Ultimate Polish will bring anything else over #80 on a new car finish. The NXT (which I use as a sealer) did present a nice shine, and the Collinite over the NXT added the little bit of depth that I have now.

The "problem" with pure white is that it has no reflectivity to speak of. The slightly off-whites like Strife has, have a bit more "personality"

I'm probably at the max, but as a die-hard "driveway detailer" Im always striving for that little extra something special. The #26 has always been my go to on my black vehicle, and that will probably be my next try.

I re-read your original post. Sorry about that. I've had good results with the above on my 1994 Oxford White F150 Lightning. I have found the same does not work as well on my 2011 Race Red F150 or my wifes 2011 Bordeaux Reserve Metallic Fusion.

I have switched to DuraGloss SMR 671 and TPP 105 on my 2011 Ford's, they seem to work better for some reason. I am sticking with Meg's products on my 1994 F150. I would just experiment until you find the combination of products that you can live with.

You will never get any depth from your paint, not compared to a dark metallic color. But, you can still give it that mirror like shine.

It's very hard to get the extra oomph from white or most light colored cars. NXT 2.0 is good for light colored cars, and in my experience 476s or 845 insulator wax are bright waxes. You can try other brands, but being in meguiarsonline i feel it would be impolite or inappropriate to recommend other stuff. But here goes... You can try Klasse twins (AIO and sealant glaze), I have used the european counterpart carlack 68. The shine you can get from it is an extremely reflective shine that offers some depth. It can be finicky to use, especially the sealant glaze (klasse) or long life sealant(carlack 68). After sufficient curing, you can apply the collinite on top of it. Hope it helps, I've had good experience with those so far.

Yes you're right, white just doesnt lend itself to "oomph" Im somewhat of an almost exclusive Meg-guy too, but have thought of trying the Klasse Twins. Im willing to sacrifice depth for knock out shiny.

The Klasse twins in my experience gives bright reflections. The AIO is simple enough to use, I recommend you use a microfiber applicator for more bite, work it in until most of it is gone. If you have a DA Polishier, its even better. Using it, you will find that even on clean looking paint, it will still pick up more dirt from the paint. No cure time needed for this step before applying the sealant glaze.

The sealant glaze, best applied with a microfiber applicator (meguiar's offers them, softbuff microfiber applicators). Must be applied REAL THIN or it will be a paint to remove. Wait 15-30 or even 1 hour before removal. After removal, wait 8-12 hours before applying a 2nd coat of it or before applying a pure carnauba wax.

Those are the "little annoyances" i have with klasse or carlack 68. Very good products no doubt, but too finicky to use and not as user friendly as most meguiar's products. As for durability, meguiar's will say that it depends on the environment, driving conditions or how the owner takes car of the paint. Same with Klasse, etc. Even if it may be more drable than megs, it won't be that much better as you might think.
