UQW or QW - What am I missing?

It seems like a lot of work, and it's supposed to be "quick". What am I doing wrong?

I'm using the standard QW. I've tried misting on a wet car and drying and I've now tried blowing the car with a blower and then misting with QW, then going over it with MF.

Either method leaves yet more buffing to do.

It seems I might as well just apply a coat of wax. It wouldn't take that much longer.

It's supposed to be quick... what am I missing?

The standard QW is not as quick & easy as UQW, but it still should be much quicker than applying a traditional wax.

Perhaps you're applying too much? One spray per panel/section should be enough...

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Spray waxes as far as I know is a mist and wipe thing, unless you're using too much which will make most spray waxes hard to use and leave the paint patchy and applying it by allowing it to haze before removal. Which is also another way of applying UQW. Spray on a panel, allow to haze which should happen real quick since its a liquid then remove almost immediately.

It can also leave the paint uneven if you apply it when the car has become too dirty. In which case I'd UQD first before applying UQW.

I use the UQW but will always go back over with a dry MF rags as a final wipe...

Yup, I agree with that... Because eventually the microfiber used in spreading the spray wax will be too saturated, a 2nd microfiber will ensure cleanliness and remove any excess product. If not, the car can look messy, even streaky and smeared.

I read some folks here do not dry the car when applying UQW. This saves one step.

Yeah, I would guess applied to heavy. It is just a top up, not an actual coat of wax.

UQW will be a much faster and easier application than the original version of Quik Wax. The new version of QW should be much easier to use.
But it does sound like you might be using too much product, regardless. A simple mist of product onto a panel, then a wipe with your micofiber followed by another quick wipe or two with the dry side of the towel should be all that's needed. As has been mentioned, eventually your microfiber towel will start to become damp with product, at which point you can actually spray a bit less as you work around the vehicle, since that dampness will still transfer product to the paint. Always follow with a quick couple of wipes with the dry side of the towel though.

The common method is to spray the product onto a wet panel and then dry, not to skip the drying process altogether. That's a recipe for water spots, and that's never good. You still save a step by doing this, of course.

Thanks guys, for all the replies.

Definitely too much product being applied. I'll cut way down.

Ive been using the blower method to go once over so the second over is a light dry.

Ill apply less and see how it goes. Thanks again!
