Menzerna FG500 vs. Meguiars M101 Video Review - Garry Dean - Tampa, FL

I have had the pleasure of using both of these European marketed products and I must say that they are both fantastic offerings. However, one product stands out from the other. Check out this video review/comparison to see how they perform.

    Thanks for watching!

Your reviews are simply the best I have seen on the internet! Objective, professional and show the entire process!

Good to know about M101 but sad to know since I can't get it

Nice review, Garry, thanks for taking the time to put it together.

You mentioned towards the end of the video that Menzerna recommends FG500 be used with a rotary buffer, and we say the same thing with M101. In fact, we created it to work specifically with our W6006 Foam Cutting Pad (Euro market as well) on a rotary buffer. It would be interesting to see how different the hazing is when using both products on a rotary buffer as the DA action in and of itself often creates a bit of haze anyway, with all sorts of pads and products. We've seen plenty of cases where rotary application of M101 yielded no hazing whatsoever, but of course the paint variable, which is enormous, will play a role in that as well.

But it's a testament to both of these products that they can and do perform well for you, even when used in a method that neither was designed for.

    Great review, Garry.

After this year's Detail Fest I know that M101 is one of your top products to go.

    The whole Meguiar's SMAT line: M101, M105, M86, D300, D301 and D151 delivers absolutely amazing results.
I used FG500 with LC microfiber pads and that combo played pretty well.

    Thanks Mike, no problem.

Most people use d/a's these days so I figured I would show my results with what "most" people would use to get them.

I would definitely follow either compound with a lighter polish so I dont mind the haze. M101 finishes amazingly and M205 with a finishing pad is generally all that I need afterwards.
