Girlfriends sister has a new Veloster and she had it since Feb. She came to me and asked what can cause the steering wheel to start peeling. Looks like something was dragged across it. She said the spot was smaller but it's getting bigger. I put a vinyl- leather conditioner on her steering wheel for her. And told her she might want to take it to the dealership Ansley them know and she may want to put a cover on it.
Damaged, faulty product.
Check her hands for jewelry.
The fluids on the palm of her hands, Lanellin (sp) or something like that.
The European Ford Fiesta in the 2000's had the same issue.
Get it replaced under warranty and check the Hyundai forums for people having the same issue.
That's what she gonna do. They are ordering her a new one. I told her i saw people having the same problem with theirs on a forum and sent her the link for it.
