Question Ultimate Wash & Wax on new paint?

Hi everyone, new to the forum.

Took delivery of a new jet black bmw 528 msport a month ago. Unfortunately due to some negligent employees cutting grass along the sidewalk beside a road i was driving by, debris damaged the hood of my car. Had the hood freshly repainted two weeks ago and was just wondering whether it is safe to use Ultimate wash & wax on the hood of the car prior to the paint being cured. Have the impression that dispersed wax on fresh paint shouldnt be a problem, but I could be wrong.

    Thanks everyone!

To be sure, I would not use any carwash or wax on newly repainted surfaces for 30-90 days, but you can also check with your painter. I would use gold class, and apply a pure polish (m07 or DC polish) in the meantime, maintain with meguiars quik detailer (the maroon bottled one, not the ultimate)

Wouldnt be as bad as an actual coat of wax, but not really recommended either.

Maybe a little off topic, but what is the difference between Ultimate Quick Wax, Ultimate Quick Detailer, and the maroon bottle Quick Detailer?

UQW leaves a durable wax behind.

UQD removes the loose dirt safely, and leaves a water repeling polymer behind, but wouldnt count on it to be as protecting.

QD just removes the loose dirt safely, and is good for claying.

Ultimate Wash & Wax is probably not the best choice for fresh paint. Odds are it won't cause any issues if you don't wash very often, but if you're one of those "wash three times a week" kind of people then we'd definitely recommend using Gold Class or similar instead. This is a case were it's really easy to err on the side of caution and just use a different car wash soap.
