Want to buy the right product

I just painted my car. It's a base coat / clear coat job. I have a little dust and some orange peel in the clear coat. What products / process is recommended. I'v heard I need to knock down the orange peel with hard block sanding with a 1000 then 1500 wet sanding and after DA'ing with Meguiars M150 then 250 then glaze. Is that correct?

Re: Want to buy the right product

If you have enough clear coat applied so that you can block sand with 1000 grit, then it's OK to do so. Just make sure of that first! If you finish sand at 1500 grit, especially by hand, you're going to be seriously challenged to remove those sanding marks with a DA buffer, even if you use M105. And to pull them out with a rotary is going to require a fairly high level of rotary skill in the first place. Even then, do yourself a favor and finish down with 3000 grit - it's much less invasive to the paint than grinding away with a wool pad trying to remove 1500 grit marks, and overall it will make the job go faster and easier, too.

Have you ever attempted to wet sand before? Any experience with a rotary?
