A little trip to Roush Performance in Plymouth, MI

The Mustang Owners Club of Southeastern Michigan was scheduled to hold their monthly meeting at Roush Performance in Plymouth, MI near Detroit earlier this week, and the folks at Roush asked if we would like to attend. Roush Performance is just now putting the finishing touches on their retail space, where they will be carrying all of the performance parts they make, plus clothing, accessories and Meguiar's products. As it turns out, this Mustang club boasts over 700 members (!) and they expected at least 200 to turn out for this event - we're pretty sure more than that showed up!

We were there to discuss products, do some brief buffer demos, and basically just talk car care with anyone who wanted to do so. And it was non stop talking and demos for a couple of hours prior to their official meeting. Oh, and these pix were all taken with my phone, not the DSLR, so apologies for any quality issues.

This is the area they designated for our demo area - this red '66 Fastback is for sale with an asking price of $27,000 and it's a beautiful driver, if anyone's interested. 289 V8, 4 speed, fresh restoration, just 3000 miles since the work was completed.

Table set up and ready to go to work.

Mustangs in various stages of completion, depending on what level they're being taken to. Roush modifies close to 1200 vehicles annually in this facility.

There's a whole stable of ponies parked out back!

    The crowd starts to arrive!

The new retail space....everything you need to make your Mustang, F150 or Raptor go fast, and look good!

That is so cool. I wonder if you're the one who talked to my friend who works with 5 Hour Energy? He called me last night mentioning he talked to a Meguiars rep and also claims he mentioned to the rep that I am a member on this forum or something. Does it ring a bell for you Mike? His name was Ken.

Yes, that was me at the event, and I did have a long talk with Ken from 5 Hour Energy. He did mention having a friend who was really into detailing but not that his friend was a member of MOL, but he did mention that his friend was a big user of Meguiar's products. So thanks for helping to spread the word, Nick! Looks like you and I now have just "one degree of separation"!

Yep that's him. That is so cool! Small world isn't it? And no problem on spreading the word. Your guys' products get the job done, simple as that! One degree of separation... haven't heard that one before lol, I like it!

Yeah he was telling me how you were saying you just detailed a Ferrari, I think it was, and a few other things about the business of detailing.
