From my notes...looks as if it's about a "3."

UP is derived from M205, which is rated a 4 on the professional cut scale. But UP doesn't have the same abrasive load and it's really designed for hand or DA use, so it's relative cut is probably closer to a 2.
You have to remember, however, that the cut scale on the pro products takes into consideration the intended use of the product. For example, M105 is rated 12 but that's when used with a wool pad and rotary buffer. If you use M105 on a DA with a polishing pad at low speed with light pressure it won't cut as much as it does on a wool pad/rotary. And M205 has been used with microfiber pads on the Rupes 21mm tool and it cuts like crazy. So any cut number needs to be put into proper context.

That is very interesting!! so if I used M205 or UP with finishing (very soft) pad on DA with no pressure than I will get only, hypothetically, very glossy surface if i working the product for amble time; is that wright.
I forget to ask when M205 used with MF and Rupes 21 is the MF was cutting or finishing pad? Thanks Mike
Yeah, you would mostly be removing any dirt and spreading the polishing oils over the surface, not working on any defects.

At what point, or what buffer/pad combination, produce cut from Ultimate Polish?
the moment you put it on the paint. and it's a polish so the "cut" is minimal, use a compound if you want cut.
