Meguiars D140 Wheel Brightener Question !!!

Okay I have a new car 2012 Jeep I keep the wheels clean.I wash every other weekend...The wheels are 20-inch Polished Aluminum Wheels with Satin Carbon Painted.





I will buy the D140 + The 32oz bottle just to keep it organized.



So the question is what's is the right mixture for a 32ox bottle ? I understand that the ratio for normal cleaning would be 4:1,so on a 32oz bottle do I put 8oz of White Brightener ? Not sure just don't want to mess up a new wheel with a stronger mixture.

I think this depends how much water you add. If you only add 24oz of water plus 8oz of product, then the ratio will become 3:1. I believe you want to add 6.4oz of product and add water to 32oz. I thought Meguiars bottles have mark to show proper dilution. There you fill water to 4:1 mark, then fill product up to ridge line.

If memory serves, I believe Joe, Superior Shine mixes his WB 10:1, keep it in a working product but not hurt your wheels. WB is strong stuff, be careful on wheels. Good ol' car wash of your liking should handle most of the cleaning. Waxing the wheels helps in cleaning. When you use the wheel cleaner it strips the wax.

Also, use eye protection, WB in the eye is not a good thing at all!

Are these factory OEM wheels? If so, WB will be fine on them, but it is important to dilute the product properly. If you use our secondary bottle then you would fill with water up to the dilution ratio mark, then fill with WB up to the top of the barrel of the bottle (the line where the bottle starts to taper toward the top). But if you're taking really good care of these wheels and you don't need to remove really heavy brake dust, you can fill the bottle with water to a point halfway between the dilution ratio mark and the top of the barrel and then add water. This will cut the dilution ratio dramatically but still give you plenty of cleaning power.

WB is great stuff and can remove some really nasty brake dust. It's not suitable for bare, high polished billet wheels but on factory coated wheels it's perfectly safe when used as directed. That means working on one wheel at a time from start to finish, and not allowing the product to dry on the surface.
