Due to unforeseen circumstances (ie divorce) I am now living quite a bit of distance from my job. As of right now I'll be putting about 25k a year on my Vue. Most of it is fortunately highway but it still drives me nuts. Anybody else drive a lot?

Sorry to hear of your circumstances. A long drive only adds to the joys(?) of a work day. I'm retired, but rack up 25k a year mainly fall and winter. Recreational driving is a breeze compared to required driving. Less monotonous.

I wouldn't say that is totally out of the norm. That is about 96 miles each day round trip 5 days a week. My brother in law drives that much to work. Just put on some good music, enjoy the ride and I find driving relaxing unless there is a lot of traffic. Also, you have an excuse to get new cars more often.
Wow David! 25k a year for fun. That I actually would enjoy. The drive itself isn't too bad. I'm just bummed I'll be eating through tires. Oh well. I'm getting an average of 24+ mpg though on a AWD with a 3.5L V6 so I guess I shouldn't complain too muchThanks for your thoughts!
I used to, back when I was commuting I would travel 54 miles one way. Then on top of that my girlfriend lived 29 miles one way. So it was a mess for a while, then I moved in with her, and closer to the job. 10 miles round trip per day now. Lovin it.
