Question Waffle weave or plush MF towels for mist and wipe?

    Dear Meguiar's online posters,

I'm such a noob in detailing and just starting to experiment with UQD, to do so, which is the best MF towels I could use? The waffle weave ones or the plush?

Cos when I see Megs Water Magnet, it's waffle weave and it's for drying, I'd like to know if the waffle weave could also be use for mist and wipe light dust using UQD.

    Thanks!

Hmm, I suppose you could? But the waffle weaves are more designed for waterless wash sprays when your car is dirty. I think that sticking with a normal microfiber towel is good enough.

Hi all very sorry for the joke, I'm such a horrible joker, hope noone's offended.

Anyway, thanks for the reply, so waffle weave's better for drying and waterless wash, should stick with the plush ones for UQD use.

Re: Waffle weave or plush MF towels for mist and wipe?

For use with any quick detail spray, stick with the plush microfiber towels. The waffle weaves are designed for absorbing water, and generally from a clean surface (ie, you just washed the car) so they can't carry away as much dust as a plush towel will.

As for the "joke", we've removed all instances of it because it was offensive. Imam, please, in the future refrain from such comments. OK, that's enough brow beating for now....... let's move along.

Agreed. For any QD type product I like to use the fluffiest microfibers I have. I figure that gives all the dirt and grit a place to go away from my paint. For that reason I always give it a good hard shake between panels too.

Re: Waffle weave or plush MF towels for mist and wipe?

    Thanks for the explanations guys,

I've just bought a few more waffle weaves yesterday as it's bigger than the plush ones, I thought it'd be OK to use them for mist and wipe, will have to pay a visit to the store again then.

Also thank you Michael for removing the joke, as I completely unaware of its offensiveness when I wrote that, again, I'm sorry if anyone's offended.

I'm well brow beaten here, but I hope I can continue learning on MOL

I find the waffle weave ones are ok when drying, and using something like a qd or spray wax with your final wipe.

But will want the plush ones when the surface is durty for qd.
