    Smile Folex/303/Adam's stain removers

Hi everyone! I have each of these proucts and wanted to do a test to see which one fairs better. I have a large piece of light tan carpet, and wanted to see how each did with the following stains.

    1. Blood
    2. Wine
    3. Ink
    4. Grease
    5. Oil
    6. Spaggetti sauce
    7. Grape Jelly

I just need a little help in how to go about the test, so that I can really tell what's the most effective test for each product.

What I mean is Should I test the removers immediately after the stain was made, or 24 hours later, or 5 days later, or some combination of those.

I'm really interested in seeing the results! Thankyou, and have a good day!

P.S. I'm willing to add any other stain/spot removers to this test if any one has any they're interested testing compared to the others.

I would say let the stain sit for a few hours at least. Any stain would be harder to clean up after it absorbed into the carpet, right? So that'd be the ultimate test in my opinion.

How are you going to get blood???

I'm a vampire! No, I don't know if this will work. but I was just going to get some ground beef or steak from the store and squeeze it out. I don't know if that can be considered a normal enough blood stain though.

Yikes, this just scares me thinking about how you'd go about getting it. I got a nice cut at work today that would have given you a decent amount of blood :P But at any rate, I guess you can give that a try, I have no idea.

Depends on your "Real World" circumstances. If you are a pro detailer you are unlikely to get access to a spill or stain right when it happens so leaving it for a couple of days at least would be best. If you are just talking about your own car then if you are willing to go to all this trouble to test products then you are likely the sort of person who would clean something up within 24 hrs. I wouldn't bother testing right after the spill as water and a good blotting technique would remove most "just happened, still wet" stains so may not be a real test of each products capabilities.

If you have a large enough piece of carpet, why now put a lot of 'stains' on/in it.

Do a removal after a day, then another area a few days after that, then a week later...you get the idea.

This way you get a chance to see each strain remover reacts over time.

Good luck, and please post the results...

BillE I sure will! I'm still gathering some of the materials and I'm working on doing it in a video format. I've also added Oxy Pro stain remover since Consumer Reports lists it as their top rated commercial stain removing product.

I hope this test is not against the Meguiars forum because I'm not using a Meguiars product. I'm an addicted and Loyal Meguiars Product user and lover. I'm just testing these 4 cause through the detailing forums, these are constantly brought up as their favorites and most used.

Cant wait to know the results. Im a loyal folex man but the stains i have to deal with are about a couple of years later type of stains and folex does a fairly good job. It would be great to know if another product is much easier to work with. Thanks for actually taking the time and doing it.

    Thanks dude!

Yeah, I just charted off the piece of carpeting today. Tomorrow I will be applying each stain, and waiting one week to actually test the products
