  • Best clear coat brand for a new paint job?

the thing is, im about to do a repaint job on my roof top, im gonna paint it again in black and im wondering whats the best brand to buy for the clear coat in order to buff and polish with meguiars products and get the better light and easy to remove the scratches and swirl marks, so do you know a good brand and model of product to do this?

    Thank you.

Less important than the brand is how well you mix the paint, and how well you spray it. We've seen plenty of cases where someone goofed up with a perfectly fine paint and the results were a very non responsive finish - either way too soft or way too hard. If you stick with any of the major brands of paint and follow directions to the letter, you should be able to get an excellent finish out of them all.

what mike said. asking this ? can give ya as many different responses as asking whats the best gun to use. i've shot nason, sherwin williams, dupont, and autobody master clears. the choice of which one had had different factors to determine why. one i want to try is SPI. it it one brand i havent heard any negative feedback on and the price is pretty good. here's a link and ya gotta make a call to em to purchase it.
