RFEW dilution level for waterless wash?

Just picked up the new Rinse Free Express Wash and a liter Kwazar Mercury spary bottle and wanted to experiment using it as a Waterless wash. What dilution level should I mix it at 4:1, 5:1,.....?

I'm just guessing (based on ONR recommendations): 8oz. per gallon of water.

Have you tried Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere yet ? Amazing product.

Hey Greg,

Wow, based on those recommendations I just over did it. I mixed 250ml soap with 750ml of water to make one Liter of product. I tested it out on a rolling cart and the surface was a bit sticky thats why I asked.

I have not tried Ultimate Wash & Wax yet as I havent seen it on the shelves here yet. I will pick some up when I see it. I might go over to Pep Boys tommorrow and look around.

Just to clear things up, Mike, you don't really create a waterless car wash, based on the rinseless product, but rather a sort of quick detailer.

There are couple waterless liquids available as concentrate but not made by Meguiar's.

I agree with Greg. I have tried to make a waterless wash out of a rinseless wash but it just does not work the same. ONR at 8 oz. per gallon does work decently as a waterless wash but I feel much safer using a designated waterless wash like Ultimate Wash and Wax Anywhere.

I like using waterless and rinseless products for their intended purposes considering the care which must be taken when using either.

Yep you guys are right. I tried it out it and it didnt do a very good job as a waterless. I will have to get the UW&W spray and see how that performs.

Mike, as Greg and Shawn point out, using RFEW as a waterless wash can be done (sort of) but your dilution ratio is waaaay overkill for that! At that ratio, or even at 5:1, you'll do a very effective job of stripping your wax with RFEW. Since our dilution ratio for routine use is similar to that of ONR (one ounce per two gallons of water, or an ounce per gallon if the car is very dirty) you should be using a similar 8oz per gallon for a spray product.

But the reality is that UWWA will do a much better job as a true waterless wash due to the synthetic wax protection it leaves behind. Of course, if you're planning on detailing a car and it needs a bit of a wash and you'd rather not have that fresh synthetic wax application (and you'd like to strip off the remaining wax that might be present) a stronger dilution of RFEW can do wonders for both cleaning and prepping.

Ok I think im tracking. Right not I have it set a 8oz per gallon and want to use it in between a QD and a rinseless wash. If its better to just go rinseless at this point then I might give up on my brew.
