Instrument Cluster Polishing

First time poster, long time lurker here.

Below are some pictures of the instrument cluster on my DD. I used a microfiber applicator and a combination of PlastX and ColorX to polish the clutser and a microfiber cloth to wipe off any residue.

It's not 100% correction, but a night and day difference!

nice i have the same problem but mine is like the plastic that comes on electronics and ive used plastX to no avail =(

Very nice work - this can be an extremely tricky surface to work on and your applicator choice can make or break the process. Cotton terry cloth can often be surprisingly coarse and aggressive, potentially leaving a ton of little swirls in the surface. Looks like you avoided that common pitfall and got an excellent result overall.

It may be that you need something more aggressive, I'm not sure. I found ColorX to provide better results on this cluster than PlastX, but it had more oils that needed wiped away afterward. I also did this to the radio and A/C controls on this car and had similar results. Do make sure to use a microfiber material for application.

There were a number of deeper scratches on this cluster that were not able to be leveled.

Thank you. I found the microfiber applicator to be gentle enough not to install additional swirls, but aggressive enough to work in the applied product depending upon the amount of pressure used.
