Ultimate Polish/Wax combo before the National HSV 2012 Meet

First time I've used this combination on this car, my other half's pride n joy, her Holden HSV Clubsport R8... but as we are heading up for the National Meet, I thought she deserved more than her usual Gold Class Wash and Ultimate Quick Wax combo... previously I've always used NXT 3 or 4 times a year, but this is the first time I've used the new products on her, and probably the most thorough internal cleanup I've done since we got her.

This isn't the first time I used these two new products on one of my cars though. I've used them once before on my daily driver Primera, and the wax in particular was very easy to use. As the day warmed up, and the sun started to come out after washing and drying, even in moderate level sun the second layer of wax was easy to apply and remove.

That's also some Meguiars Leather Conditioner on the inside, with some Mothers Interior/Carpet Cleaner on the inside, followed up where applicable with the Protectant. Some Meguiars Trim Detailer and Ultimate Quick Detailer on the exterior where needed too...

The car looks fantastic and we're glad you're enjoying the new products on it. We also think it's pretty cool that your other half is rolling in a high powered, manual gearbox sport sedan!

    Petrol-head women... :P

Grabbed some of the Waterless Spray Detailer (from the 3 step waterless system) on the way home, and I'll be packing a bag full of spray products tonight to take... UQD, UQW, QID... microfibres, terry towels.. Just wish we had some of the new 2012 products here, like the Gold Class Carnauba Plus sprays and the Ultimate Wash and Wax Anywhere. No matter, going on the time it took to get the UP and UW, they'll be here by Xmas.. :P

    Nice looking Clubby!

Do you usually dress the tyres?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I haven't because she is going in tomorrow morning for a tyre check (one of the front's has a slow leak), otherwise I would have. Ideally I'd also take all the wheels off one at a time and get the dust off from in deep. Only so much you can do while they are fitted, lol

It is a really nice car, but it is a daily driver, and it shows in places when you look in close. The wheels have been kerbed a little by a previous owner, and there are a lot of marks on the lower trim of the car. The stone chips on the front are starting to number, and there are a couple of bird bombs I didn't get to in time (and are a little reluctant about tackling, after my previous clearcoat mishap with my own birdie incident with my car)

Worst of all is there is a minor panel crease on the other side from last year, when a 'Fendalton Tractor' (as we call them here) got too close in a car park, but that will get tended to hopefully in time.. (should have been done before the Nationals!!. lol)

I think if it was my car I'd wrap it up in cotton wool and drive it weekends, and use the former DD Corolla sitting in the background every day for work :P , but I guess as they say, it's no sense owning a car, if you don't drive it..

    Hey Smurf,

Sorry, I never replied to you at the time, and haven't signed in much the last couple of months until the last couple of days...

LOL, no your PT would be hard pressed to pass for an HSV, but there were plenty to display on the main street of Taupo, and even a non HSV in the form of the 'Bumblebee' Camaro..

We didn't go to a race track as such, but there was a gymkhana the first day, and a show day the second day, with lots of Meguiar prize pack buckets for the various winners of the various categories. I don't think I've ever spent as much time prepping a car over the spell of a week before as I have for that day. Suffice to say, my Meguiars products got a workout, and I couldn't help but notice how many other car owners used Meguiars..
