  • Touching up the daily driver.

The weather was nice enough to get out and wash my 2007 Chevy Equinox. It is not too often that one can use only one brand of products to to accomplish a spotless vehicle.
    Washed with Gold Class
    Dried with Water Magnet
Touched up interior with Quick Interior Detailer
Tires and trim with Ultimate Protectant
Finished off with Ultimate Quick Wax

Thank you Meguiar's for a great line of products.

I actually bought UQW by mistake at first. I tried it out and I love it. It leaves a silky smooth, as if you worked on it all day feel to it.

Happy to help, and thanks for the feedback! It's nice that you got enough of a break from the winter weather in Ohio to actually do a quick touch up on the Equinox.

UQW is perhaps one of the best, if not THE best product I have ever used. Look, application, everything. Superb!

I've been using it after washing. Keeps the UW looking real good until I do another complete detail.

I've heard of people using UQD as they dry their car after washing. What is the procedure for doing that?

UQW is better for this than UQD. To use when drying the car, do this:
              • Wash as you always do, making sure to do the final "sheeting rinse" as a final rinse
                • The "sheeting rinse" is when you take the nozzle off the hose and with low to medium water pressure just let a smooth, steady stream of water flow over the paint - this will sheet off the vast majority of water beads that otherwise need to be dried from the paint. This process is shown toward the end of our Quik Tips Video on washing, which can be seen here
              • Now, with all those beads of water flushed away, spray some UQW onto a panel and then dry the panel with your Water Magnet or similar waffle weave drying towel. Use a second, dry towel for a final wipe
              • Continue around the vehicle, drying panel by panel with each getting a mist of UQW before you wipe with the towel. Use as much UQW as you would normally, usually just a couple of trigger pulls per panel should do.

Whether or not the use of UQW or any other product during the drying process actually makes it any faster or easier to dry the car is a matter of opinion, but it sure is a fast and easy way to apply this product, and the paint looks fantastic when done.

I agree with Mike, though based on his 'list of steps' there, I use the UQW with the final wipe step. Not the initial drying step.
