Any kerosene resistance wax/sealant ? :)

I know my question might sound crazy
But here in Egypt, many cheap garages use a towel damped with some kerosene (very little)
They use this technique to quickly remove bird lifts and to give an instant (temp) shine to the car

Of course this dumb technique leads to paint color loss by the time... However, they often do not care about that

I know that we should stop this practice from first place
However, I cant force my customers to tell the guys working at their garrages to stop doing this bad
I know it will happen, so I need to apply some kind of a strong wax or sealant to resist this as much as possible

Would synthetic sealant 2.0 do the job ? or I'm hopeless until they stop doing this ??

Using Quik Detailer works very well for getting the bird bombs off. MUCH better than kerosene.

As for kero and a synthetic...I put a bit of Ultimate Liquid Wax and a bit of kerosene in a cup, and yes it did appear to dilute it. After it (the wax) was allowed to fully cure...have no idea.

Using kerosene on paint was an OLD (like back in the 50's) trick to give single stage paint a quickie shine before you went out 'cruising.'

LOL, My first job, back in the late 50's was working for an old codger who owned a limo service. I washed and detailed his fleet. He never allowed any wax on these vehicles and only used a bit of kerosene in a bucket of water. Wash and buff dry. Back then cars in the northern climates would rust out in a matter of a couple years. His cars never did. He claimed that the kerosine would get into the cracks and crevices a wax could not and thus prevent any rust from starting. The limos were black and looked spectacular by the standards of that time. Damn, that was a long time ago.

We're inclined to go with the latter here. Kerosene can be a fairly potent solvent and while a very fresh coat of a synthetic sealant may stand up to a very light application of kerosene, the older the application of sealant and the more kerosene used, the faster you're going to strip it. At the end of the day, the kerosene is going to come out the winner here. In the short term the sealant loses, in the long term it's the paint that suffers.

Kerosene or it's refined cousin Mineral Spirits (Paint thinner) will strip just about any wax that has been applied earlier. Not sure about Megs products, but Blackfire wet diamond contains mineral spirits.

Back then we did that all the time. Kerosine and water was the original rinseless wash. Kerosene would get on the metal clips that held on side mouldings and would prevent rust.

I know some that still do that before winter right after they spray the undercarriage with used motor oil. Then they head for a dirt road to complete the poor-man's undercoating. Gotta admit their cars don't rust... but their garages sure stink!

For the OP, you may have to upsell a coating in lieu of traditional wax or sealants. I use Opti Coat which is touted as a permanent coating. It cures harder than the clearcoat it tops reducing the potential for swirls and I've found it impervious to solvents.
