  • yellow wax applicators...yes another wash question :)

I've searched the forums and seen some threads, but I'm concerned that a lot of them are talking about buffing applicator pads.

I don't trust myself with a buffer, so I use the regular meguiar's wax applicators that come with the wax...but I am obsessed with trying to not scratch my cars, and am afraid to use them after I've used them on the car a few times. I've bought additional ones from Meguiars, but I've gone through them. I think I'm being silly with this, lol, I wanted to wax my car this weekend and it's idiotic to buy a can of wax to get a fresh applicator.

I've read you can wash these things, but I've also heard things to the contrary. If I just pop my applicators in the laundry (liquid detergent only) is that okay? Can I put them in the dryer?

thanks in advance for any replies...

I usually hand wash the the hand applicators in a bucket of Dawn, and then air dry. I guess the dryer on low wouldnt hurt them. Been using mine for years.

Just dont wash them and then seal them up in a baggy or something.

You dont need to buy wax each time, you can order multi-packs of just the applicators online.

By all means, toss them in the washer and dryer. If you've used one for nothing other than wax it may come out looking slightly discolored even after washing, but you're still perfectly fine using it at least a few more times for waxing. Eventually you might want to downgrade them to interior dressing applicators and finally tire dressing application before throwing them away.
