  • New from Southern California

Hello everyone I'm new to this detailing stuff and want to learn everything there is to making my truck stand out. It is a 2008 Toyota tundra that I take offroading about every month.

I detail it about 2 times a year but I feel like I can do better. I have only used the consumer line of products from clay bar, polish, to wax.

I have a lot of scratches down the side off my truck from offroading and I have seen some off the work people have done to there cars and I am sure I can do it.

I'll be sure to ask my questions in detailing 101, I have a lot of them. lol. I am getting the meguiars D/A polisher for xmas so I will be needing advice on everything.

    Well here are the pics.

    Welcome to MOL!!

Depending on the depth of the scratches you're getting from your off road excursions, be mindful of how often you're removing those and how much paint you're taking off over time. Since you're getting a DA for Christmas you might want to read through D/A Buffing 101 - An Introduction to the G110v2 and similar tools and the 5 Step Paint Care Cycle before you get started.

And since you're in Anaheim and we're in Irvine, you might want to sign up for our first Detailing 101 class on Saturday, January 28th, 2012

      Welcome to The Forum.

You're going to really like G110v2. It's a great dual action polisher.
