    I am also one who didn't really even think twice about the backing plates. Now I know so much more of the why behind it. Thanks for the great write-up - even if it was a while back.

    Thank's Michael for writing a very informative topic! I know I'm only 2 years behind you writing this but this answer's a lot of questions and reason's behind some of the things I've wondered over the years from polishing paint to bare aluminum and seeing, hearing and remembering things in the past about while still using the correct technique with a product and pad one might not get the full benefit or good results as the product should have had. Have a lot of reading and studying to catch up on for not being in the scene for the last couple years, technology, products and paint polishers have advance a lot in their techniques!

    Thanks again Michael and Jason for helping and teaching us that the little things play a big role in the outcome of a product!
