Blotchy interior in Toyota echo

I replaced my accent (terrible, awful, evil ******* car) with a Toyota echo and noticed that the natural shine product I usually use looks great everywhere but the upper dash, the black parts in front, not the lower greys. It's textured, so I tried applying more, and for awhile, that worked, but it looks blotchy again ony a few days later, as if it is drying out. Is there something I should know about cleaning this economy car?

First off, welcome to MOL!

As for your situation at hand, have you done anything to really clean the finish before applying the Natural Shine? NS has very light cleaning ability so you might want to hit the surface with some Quik Interior Detailer first (you'll be surprised at the cleaning ability of this product) or some all purpose cleaner and a warm, we towel. If using a household all purpose cleaner make sure first that it's safe for use on vinyl, and even then you might want to dilute it 50/50 with water. But it sounds like a good cleaning is in order first here, then apply the NS.

I noticed the bottle says to keep off of plastic panels. the dash on this car is plastic. Is that going to hurt anything?

I removed it by going over it a few times with invisible glass (not very useful on glass, but pulls dirt right out of textured shifters and steering wheels.) It looks dull, but clean. I'm hesitant to try applying this product again until I hear back from you guys on how this would work on hard, deeply textured plastic rather than the shallower, softer stuff I've had in my other cars.

I would apply the dressing, and then let it sit for 5 minutes or so. Then come back and buff off the excess. Helps even things out, and just incase a surface didnt absorb a lot of dressing.

The label says to keep it off of clear plastics, meaning things like instrument cluster covers, navigation and radio screens, etc. It is not only fine to use on your harder plastic dash material, it's actually made for it. While using a glass cleaner to clean the dash is a bit out of the ordinary, it likely did clean things up very well. At this point we'd give NS another shot, but apply it by spraying onto a folded microfiber towel and then wiping it onto the dash rather than just spraying directly onto the dash. This will prevent overspray onto areas you don't want the product (including the base of windshield) and will allow you to spread out a thinner, more uniform layer of the product. Just don't spray a big blob of it into the middle of the towel and then spread that around - it won't do you a lot of good. Try to get reasonably even distribution of product onto towel.
