  • Pictures from SEMA 2011

From the SEMA show floor, Day 1.

The Hennessey Venom GT in our booth. Amazing car!

The other car in our indoor booth, 1956 Ford Convertible "Suncammer"

Our big rig and demo booth outside.

Barry gets the builders of our International Showcase cars fired up because......

.... they're doing the "Car Crazy" yell for SEMA Television!

Looks like a nicely patina'd older car, huh?

But it has a fully modern engine, running gear, suspension, etc.

John Hennessey signing autographs in our booth.

Ever play with Hot Wheels as a kid, with that orange track and wild colored cars? Bet you never played it like this!

This is the latest and greatest from Chip Foose!

Greg takes a little dust off a Shelby Cobra. But wait, that's not just any Shelby Cobra. No, that is Prototype Number 1, Carroll Shelby's personal car and the very first of the breed!

What are those Mopar guys doing with that Ram? That makes me curious, I love seeing things torn down like that.

            Day 2:

            That's paint, not wood.

Not your father's Oldsmobile. Well, OK, maybe it was at one point in time, but it's a whole lot different now!

Custom carved and painted shift knob, anyone?

Mario Andretti signing autographs at the Magnaflow booth.

            The 2012 Indy Car.

Rutledge Wood from Top Gear USA at the 3M booth.

Looking for a custom neon sign for your garage?

Yours truly and my good buddy, Mike Phillips.

Jesse (l) and Marc (r) - AKA Hemin8r and Marc08EX, taking a break from wiping down the Car Crazy Showcase cars. Thanks for the help guys, you rock!!!

Barry Meguiar interviewing Johan, Swedish owner and builder of the Dodge Charger in our International Showcase.

Barry takes another pause for a fan!

Ford's huge display features their racing heritage.

This is the very car that Jim Clark drove to victory in the 1965 Indy 500. This was the first rear engine car to win Indy, and no front engine car has won since.

This particular GT40 Mk IV only competed in a single race. The 1967 24 Hours of LeMans. It won.

                  Day 3:

Several of our new 2012 products on display

Ernie Manansala's sweet little Fiat 500

The day started with a marching band.

Ernie and Barry talk about the Fiat 500 and how Ernie got to where he is (by the way, he's one of the founders of NOS energy drinks, among other things!)

A broad view of the Car Crazy stage during an interview.

Oh yeah, this interview is with Ryan Friedlinghaus of West Coast

John Sibal's Scion iQ, winner of this year's Scion Challenge

Tanner Foust's Ford Fiesta rally car

From the top of our booth, looking down on yet another Wraptivo demo.

Mike Pennington doing another demo of our new Power System.

The Audi R8 done by West Coast Customs a few years back.

Can you believe this car started life as a Honda S2000?

                  Is that turbo big enough?

Would you like your Maserati Grand Tourismo in bright white.....

                  ...or murdered out?

Fans line up for a chance to meet Barry face to face.

Someone brought in one of the Meguiar's Ford Focus Hot Wheels cars for Barry to sign.

                  Helio Castroneves

                  A Kia hamster.

Automotive jewelry - the owner told me he was thrilled to be able to display our logo on his car.

Yes, that's the underside of the car!

The SoCal Streamliner was created by Valley Custom and debuted at Bonneville in 1949 setting a max speed of 187.89 mph on the salt. The original was destroyed in accident at Daytona in 1951. This very faithful recreation was done by Dan Webb and utilizes a Model T frame and bits and pieces from various Ford vehicles from the 30's.

Parnelli Jones in the Ford booth.

You've probably seen the YouTube video of this Freightliner racing up Mt. Washington, spending more time sideways that straight!

What an awesome looking event, thanks Mike.

Man, there seems to be a fascination for matte paint jobs / wraps over there at the moment!

                    I prefer my cars... SHINY!

                        Thanks for the pics, Michael.

I scored a last minute pass and made the road trip out from Ohio although I only had one day to spend at the show. I was more interested in meeting people and putting faces to names. Looked around the Meg's displays and didn't see you around, harassed Nick & Greg while they were sprucing up Fords, crossed paths with Jason a few times but no Stoops anywhere to be found! You obviously spent the whole show running around taking pictures.

I'll catch up with you sooner or later.. maybe Detail Fest if you make the trip. You can't hide forever.

I didn't know I was going anywhere until I left, definitely a last minute whirlwind trip.

The get together Tues night was on the top of the agenda as I figured that's where I'd cross paths with many of the West Coasters. Unfortunately, after leaving the Convention Center late Tues afternoon I hit the Circus Circus buffet and picked up a little more than I expected. I spent the evening with a porcelain friend and was headed out of town at o-dark thirty Wed ayem.

I thought getting to that venue was through an interesting neighborhood. I checked it out Monday night when I got in town. Seeing the glow of the bright lights down at the end of the street looked like Bartertown raising up through the gloom!

                              Next time... TL
