  • Home brews

Well the mad scientist in me has been wanting to try some homebrew products
My brew would consist of D155,M135,and D156

    I am thinking
    D155=affordable and cleans
    M135=can clean and leave behind
    D156=leaves great gloss behind

This brew would be used for daily wipe downs
Yes, I realize this is a little crazy, but hey it is in the name of car care

No, I have not tried brewing up anything yet.

Has anyone tried any homebrew products like this?
If so how did the results turn out?
    What was the mix ratio

Over and out from the mad scientist lab here in Irvine

Give it go. The worse that can happen is wasted product(s).

Tried brewing stuff you ask...only beer! After having a nasty fire and mini explosion in a college chem lab...that about ended my mad scientist days (daze).

Hmm this is like Breaking Bad meets Car Crazy
I will go mix up a batch of the Irvine Special tonight

Any suggestions for the mix ratio?

        Re: Home brews

Breaking Bad has left New Mexico and has come to Irvine

        The brew has been mixed
        1oz of Last Touch
        1oz of M135
        1oz of X-press spray wax
        .5ozish of Mothers Showtime
the vat is in a 4oz sample bottle and is currently fermenting

The potency and pictures are to follow

Do I expect anything amazing? no not really, has it been a fun little car care project, no doubt.

Somehow I knew that was going to be brought up
It was literally the bottom of the bottle lol

                That stuff is really stinky
Feels like your huffing cinnamon the entire time

If something goes wrong in the brew Mothers Showtime is for sure taking the fall

                  The ingredients of the mixture

Then it was time to brew

and then it was time to test the potency of my concoction

It was alright in terms of cleaning and gloss
No crazy results which I kinda expected
I didnt blow up the house and didnt get some crazy amount of gloss

I will finish up my brew in the next couple days and will report back if I get any different results

                    Re: Home brews

Ahhhh, another guessing game!! I guess it doesn't form a true solution and is a mixture of positively charged ions that just repeal each other and smells like cinnamon rolls and if you had a clear bottle the mixture would look like a cinnamon roll or a lava lamp.

                        Re: Home brews

I used to mix up a 50/50 mix of M135 & UQW in a spray bottle.

I stopped doing that when Synthetic X-Press came out in a gallon size.

                          Re: Home brews

Tuck I think I pretty much made something similar to that a boosted M135
I was pretty sure it was going to be something along those lines

I might try a 50/50 of M135 and Last Touch
I am thinking it will make daily wipe downs cheaper and will be leaving a little something behind

                            Re: Home brews

I have wanted to experiment too. Rather than just copy you, it would help to follow the reasoning you used in deciding which products to use.

What is the purpose of your blend? (Cleaning, durability, protection....)
How does each product contribute to your goal?

I use UW and M26 together for protection/appearance.
But have always applied M26 as my 2nd coverage coat.

                            I will give a 90%/10% UW/M26 mixture a shot next time.
Purpose: achieve Synthetic protection and a carnuba glow in one step.

                            Thanks for the good thread

                              Re: Home brews

My goal was to create the perfect daily wipe down liquid
something that can clean just as well as it can leave behind

I pretty much came to realization what I made was pretty much a modified in essence M135
at least that is what I am thinking I made
That is what makes sense in my little brain lol

the thinking for each product broke down something like this

Last Touch= a good affordable cleaner
M135=a great mixture of cleaning and leave behind
D156=great leave behind protection from a spray
Mothers Showtime=well it was what was left on the bottom of the spray bottle
Had there been none left it would not have made it into the mix

I had a good time with my little Breaking Bad comes to Irvine

I would encourage experimentation as long as it nothing unsafe or totally stupid
obviously wheel brightener and D156 would not be a good combo for interior use
