Really looking forward to trying this one, fantastic to see Meguiars investing in the Gold Class line.

It's what I have been looking for. A real Carnauba topper on a natural wax. Every other Quick Waxes had sealants in it so couldn't keep the court clean.

Re: Gold Class Carnauba Plus Quik Wax

I got a few questions for Meguiar's staff that compare this spray wax with the Gold Class QD:
whats the major difference between the 2 gold class spray products?
        which one last longer?
but how abt slickness? which 1 is more slick?
and for the look, which one had a better, more carnauba look?
my guess will be wax last longer and have more carnauba content and hence a more carnauba deep wet glow look,
but GCQD will hv more slickness and better cleaning ability?

btw how does they smell like?

@PPLd, the primary difference between GCQD and GCQW is that one is a mist and wipe and quick detailer while the other is a spray wax. Because of that you can expect the Gold Class Quik Wax to last longer than the detailer. Both have excellent darkening qualities to them but the wax is going to give you more of that - obviously this characteristic doesn't really reveal itself on very light colors, of course. The detailer is going to be a bit slicker in overall feel and should be the product of choice between the two when it comes to removing light dust and fingerprints. Just as UQD is a better choice than UQW for removing light contaminants, but UQW is great once the surface is completely clean. If you're a big fan of carnauba products on darker paints, then you're going to love both of these. Just use then appropriately.

I've used it the past 2 weekends on my Java brown Sorento after washing. It looks really good on the dark color. Beads nicely. Almost as easy to use as UQW.

                  Hi All,

Sorry to bump this up again, since we are high on water beading, does this GCQW also have hydrophobic ability like UQW?

Is it asking too much to have carnauba look with hydrophobic ability?

                  Thanks.

No, Gold Class Quik Wax does not have hydrophobic polymers - those are reserved for UQW. GCQW will, on the other hand, darken a dark colored vehicle more than UQW will.

Ok, so the discussion of layering Gold Class wax over the top of NXT/UQW has been around a long time, but has anyone tried layering the Gold class spray products over the top of the Ultimate Quick spray products?...

Off the top of my head for instance... do a full detail a few days before a show event, wash the car using the UQW as the car dries the morning of the event, and then following up with the Gold Class Spray Wax or Detailer right before the car goes on show?

Just curious as there is a lot of discussion of 'Vs', and I'm just wondering if there is any merit to just using both, lol..

                        Ok, thanks Michael.

I guess my perfect combo would be the GC liquid and topped with UQW to get the best of both worlds, right?

Well, at this point you both are sort of just thinking out loud...........of course you can top any wax or sealant with any other wax or sealant, and you can play with combinations to your heart's content! But any resulting visuals from any combination you can think to mix are going to be totally subjective, so if you like it, go for it. On MOL and other detailing forums we've probably heard mention of every possible mix of synthetics, carnaubas, spray waxes, quick detailers, etc. If you play around and hit upon something that really strikes you, then good for you. Some people think it's crazy to try a bunch of combinations while others think it's just part of the fun of detailing. If you get enjoyment from it, and you like the end result, there's no way for us to discourage you mixing and matching products.

Re: Gold Class Carnauba Plus Quik Wax

I am actually playing around with this currently. I have a coat of NXT on my black Challenger for a base, and have it topped with GCCW+. I have alternated between using D156 (UQW) and GCQW and my experience has been that the look of the car just tends to follow whatever I put on last. So what kiwiatlarge said would work, you can use the synthetics for most washes to give it the hydrophobic properties and the durability, and "top" it with GCQW for special occasions.

I can say Gold Class really deepens the color and makes the flake in my metallic black pop like crazy, it really shows off the paint. It performs just as well as advertised. I find that the D156 leaves that typical sealant super high gloss, almost to the point where the brightness of the reflections masks the actual paint underneath it. It looks awesome in it's own way.

Re: Gold Class Carnauba Plus Quik Wax

I've been using Gold Class Quik Wax for around 3 years now and I love it. In fact, it's one of the best "secrets", and best products, in detailing. I'm into carnauba-based finishing, using Gold Class or Detailer D301 waxes, and while there is a bit of carnauba in Ultimate Quik Wax and Detailer D156 Xpress Spray Wax (ref), they are primarily synthetic-based and seem intended to be more glossy than deep. It's a subtle difference I really like for my black pearl metallic paint, because it already has plenty of gloss and pop on its own, so the carnauba approach makes it incredibly deep and other-worldly. As for the matching detailer, I use GCQD for spot cleaning, waterless washing in a pinch, clay lube, glass and some interior work, and panel preparation for DA work. Both bottles go with the car everywhere. GCQW, based on carnauba, can actually tide me over indefinitely with full protection until my next re-wax or correction, and is surprisingly durable. It helps me maintain my carnauba-based wax job on a non-garaged daily driver with a professional show car appearance

So the +Plus products for GC will not stain trim or plastic?
                                GC +Plus paste, liquid, sprays...?
