Cleaner Wax is truly a great product -- if you haven't tried it, do so!

With all of Meguiar's fancy waxes, I think many forget about Cleaner Wax. I've been practicing my detailing skills on a lot of friends cars and have been getting absolutely fantastic results with the paste version of Cleaner Wax applied by hand. I also recently applied some of the liquid version to a friends car with a DA and also got incredible results -- and the product is the cheapest wax in the entire line!

The downside is that I find it to be lacking in the durability department, but I have been very happy with it so far. You can get great results with very little work with this product, and I think it produces very nice results for the price.

A cleaner/wax followed by a wax is a very popular way to do a fast detail.

    Couldn't agree more!

Having a white truck (yea, it gets a real detail), I can zoom thru it in an hour or two (using a DA) just to spruce it up.

I had a friends car I worked on and used liquid cleaner wax followed by NXT 2.0 and it only took about an hour total via DA and the car looked great.

Agreed, products containing chemical cleaners like Cleaner Wax (#A12) or most AIO type products do a great job of deep cleaning paint to remove the contamination that washing does not.

If you are looking for more durability out of a cleaner type product I would recommend checking out Mirror Glaze #20 Polymer Sealant. Although its primary function is providing protection and durability it does contain some mild cleaners that may help you achieve in one step what you are lacking with Cleaner Wax. Application and removal is a breeze, just keep the product usage on your pads thin. It is a bit more expensive than Cleaner Wax, but Auto Detailing Solutions currently has all Mirror Glaze products on sale, so you can grab a 16oz bottle for $17.99 or 64oz for $34.99.

Cleaner waxes are great products for quick paint restoration and they work great on daily drivers.

I like D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream for more serious jobs as that liquid can really cut, plus it's a SMAT product.

The A12 Cleaner Wax is a very nice product for consumer purchase for someone looking to wash & wax their car or truck on a nice Sunday. Very simple process for daily drivers where swirls, RIDS, etc are not a concern.

I myself have used gallons of M66 Quick Detailer Cleaner Wax via PCXP for my business and it keeps the process simple and the results are great.

You typically see a cleaner waxes true cleaning power on a white or light colored car where topical staining is present that cannot be removed from washing.

Nice to see some love for good old A12 Cleaner Wax.

As many of you know (or anyone who's looked closely at our logo will know) Meguiar's has been around since 1901, but we didn't have a real consumer product until 1973. And that product was A12 Cleaner Wax, and it really hasn't changed much at all since then. It's also one of the best selling waxes in the country, which is really saying something considering all the competitors products that have come and gone in the past 38 years!!
