  • VW Interior Extreme Makeover

I am not sure what year it is but it was a VW Station wagon that hasn't been cleaned in over a year.

Ill let the pictures explain the condition.

I didn’t use any Meguiar's Products on the interior because I didn’t have any at the time so I will explain the procedure.

    -Vacuumed Interior
-Shampooed Carpets and Mats and agitated with brush.
-Extracted Carpets and mats with extractor.
    -Clean & Conditioned Leather
    -Clean and Dressed Dash/Panels/Trim

Looks like someone used it for a dog kennel...

Great Job Elite M.D.!! I agree with your last post though.....I'm sure the interior will shortly be back to the "before" pictures. How anyone could let their vehicle get so filthy is beyond me! I can only imagine what the exterior looked like!

Nice work. Don't you just love dog hair. J/K. The car is B5 or B5.5 Passat.

Very nice after shots! But those before shots....I just can not believe that some people let their cars get that bad!!

NICE - What did you use on the seats? They look like new!

Also, what was the owner's expression like?

Great job, I hate dog hair! What was your technique for removing the hair, aside from the vac?

Not to thread jack, but your pics reminded me of a detail I did a few months ago.

I used Malco Leather Cleaner and Malco Leather Conditioner. They do look good in the pictures but there is better stuff out there. I havent tried Meguiar's stuff yet but I will when I run out of Malco.

If I remember correctly there expression was something along the lines of "Wow, looks really good." I have found that people who let there cars get like this dont really care about them so its not a big deal.

All shop vac then shampooed the carpets then Steam cleaned them.

That Jeep turned out great, nice work.

I believe they have one dog and a cat. While I was detailing it they said that it probably hasnt been clean in about a year so it adds up pretty fast.

What is the trick to getting out the pet hair. Sometimes it just won't vaccum out, it just kinda moves around.

                            Thanks

                              detailthis,

Dog hair is really hard to get out of carpeting. I've detailed countless cars in the condition of that Passat and the dog hair is about the worst thing I've encountered other than bad stains. Maybe Mike should creat a "nastiest cars" forum where people can post before pics like those! Black carpeting is the worst, so that car really came out good judging by the pictures.

Anyway, the best method I've found is just using a stiff bristle brush with a shop vac and kinda brushing the hair into piles and then vacuuming. Of course it all depends on the quality of the capet on how well it will come up. VW's have decent carpeting, BMW's have the absolute best, and the Subaru Forester's have the worst if I recall correctly. Good luck ever getting dog hair outta one of those!
