I'm thinking of getting a vehicle wrap to make some extra money. I was just wondering if having a wrap can cause any damage to the paint whether it be having it on to long or in the removal process. I was thinking of doing it only for a couple of months until I move overseas.

I can't edit. I was thinking of getting a Vehicle Wrap here as long as it doesn't affect the paint when it's removed. If anyone has any experience with them, please post up. -

As long as you don't have any flaws in the bodywork or clear, I'd say go for it. The vinyl isn't meant to stay on long anyways. Just make sure you read up if doing a self install or check out the shop's portfolio and work history.Everyone is my teacher. Some I seek. Some I subconsciously attract. When I won my 2005 justacooper in Dec., 2004, It came with a wrap of the tv station and the fm radio station. They gave me $500 to keep it wrapped for 1 year. I pulled it off myself after I got the $500. It was a warm day in Jan. Paint was in excellent shape. GOOD LUCK.Comment

Thanks for the advice. $500 for an entire year? Seems like a TV station would pay more.
Austin- I do have some small chips where rust has developed but there hardly noticeable. I'd definitely ask them to install. Not sure I'd be comfortable installing it myself.Comment

With our Wraptivo brand we state that it is perfectly safe even for long term use on factory cured paint only. Resprays can pose all sorts of potential issues so we don't recommend wrapping those. But if you've got healthy factory paint you'll be fine. We've wrapped and unwrapped plenty of cars by now and no problems.Michael Stoops

I have it for advertising purposes on my delivery trucks. Nice impression from 20 feet or so. Get close and you see where branches have scratched it, doors have dinged it, etc. And even the slightest scrape requires re-doing rather than buffing out.Comment

I imagine that is a topic of negotiation, where the station has more information and money, but more power of negotiation. $500 may be peanuts to the station, but seems like a lot to many individuals.Originally posted by Heather519Seems like a TV station would pay more.
