Re: DA Microfiber Correction System with forced rotation dual action polishers

I have tried Micro Da system on Cadillac CTS using PCxp and D300 not great success. Should I move up to My Flex with combo of primed pad D300 and pea size 105 ?

Would this be best choice for my Audi a4 also?

      Black, Blue - finishing,
      Gold - jeweling.

Also Hydro Tech pads work great with Flex 3401, not low profile (too grabby) just regular 1.25" thick:
Cyan - cutting (more aggressive than orange),
      Tangerine - polishing,
      Crimson - finishing.

For the maximum cut many detailers speak positively about Lake Country Purple Foamed Wool pads (PFW).

DA Microfiber Correction System really likes hard paint so it shouldn't be any problem to get good results and defect removal.

Couple pointers: aggressiveness is controlled by down pressure and arm speed (heavy down pressure and slow arm speed will produce maximum defect removal), D300 performs best at 4,800 opm and D301 at 3,800 opm, MF discs require cleaning after each section pass (conditioning brush, compressed air) otherwise cut will be decreased, 5" MF discs are best for D/A polishers and 6" discs for forced rotation Flex 3401.

We echo Greg's advice here about pressure and arm speed. It is really important to keep arm speed very slow and pressure fairly high. The 7424XP is a bit down on torque compared to the G110v2 so you may find that a slightly higher speed setting works better for you with that tool. Pressure can actually be quite high, but the pad should continue to rotate, albeit very slowly. Proper priming of the pad, as well as use of just a small amount of product for each section, is critical.

              Here's the complete guide:
              http://www.autogeek.net/ccs-polishing-how-to.html

I used coarse green pads when needed to increase cutting ability of cleaner/ polishes (including M80, M83 and M205) to remove small to medium swirls. For more serious issues (medium to heavy swirls/ scratches or oxidation) definitely orange light cutting pad will deliver (with either SwirlX or UC).

Finishing pads (black, gray, blue) work best with pure polishes (M05, M07, DC2), mild cleaner/ polishes (M205, UP) and sealants/ waxes. For paint jeweling/ maximum gloss - gold pads.
