  • DA Foam Pads: SoftBuff vs. SoftBuff 2.0

I am wondering what the difference is between the SoftBuff and SoftBuff 2.0 DA foam pads?

From what I've been able to gather, these are the part numbers for each pad type:

    Pad Type SoftBuff SoftBuff 2.0
    Cutting W7006 W7207
    Polishing W8006 W8207
    Finishing W9006 W9207
For each given pad type, will the SoftBuff and SoftBuff 2.0 yield similar results?

The 2.0's are washable, or at least more safely washable, in that they wont fall apart, or have the velcro come off. Also a centering ring to help align things.

The foam will be the same.

Please take time to check Tim Lingor's *NEW* Meguiar's Soft Buff 2.0 Pads Review!!!. It's showing some pictures comparing the old softbuff pads to the new softbuff 2.0 pads.

He's also stating that there's a difference with the cutting and finishing foam but the polishing foam remains the same.
