  • 1969 Pontiac LeMans - Shine & Show Event

I prepared this nice classic ride for Meguiar's/ WalMart Event last Saturday. It has been re-sprayed over 15 years ago and it has BC/CC paint now.

After washing and claying the preparation for paint correction begins:

    Paint buffing:

    Step 1 - M105/ foam cutting pad/ D/A polisher
    Step 2 - M205/ polishing pad/ D/A polisher
    Step 3 - M07/ finishing pad/ D/A polisher
    Step 4 - Ultimate Paste Wax/ finishing pad/ D/A polisher
    Step 5 - M16 Professional Paste Wax/ finishing pad/ D/A polisher

Unfortunately some RIDS remained. The paint surface was swirl-free though. The trunk and hood have been sanded two years ago alraedy and thin layer of clear coat was there.

    Interior work:

    Quick Interior Detailer
    Ultimate Protectant (lotion)
    Gold Class Leather Cleaner/ Conditioner
    All Purpose Cleaner
    ShopVac

    Exterior work:

    All Metal Polish
    Next Metal Polish (paste)
    Convertible Top Cleaner
    All Purpose Cleaner
    Ultimate Quik Wax (door jambs)
    Detailer Glass Cleaner Concentrate

    Wheels/ Tires:

    All Metal Polish/ DynaCone
    All Purpose Cleaner
    Quik Wheel Cleaner
    Hyper Dressing 1:1 High Gloss

    Engine bay:

    Engine Cleaner
    All Purpose Cleaner
    All Metal Polish

Many soft paint brushes and tooth brushes.

    Total time: around 30 hours.

During The Event (Thank You, Mike Stoops):

Great job on the detail on such an awesome ride Greg!!! The amount of work you put in the car really shows. The paint looks flawless and extremely wet. I'm sure Barry himself was proud of the car being placed in the Meguiar's corral.

      Thanks for sharing!

        Thank you, Marc.
The car was delivered to me with a 48-hour delay. I wished I had this extra time.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

The car looks fantastic in these pictures, Greg, and from all accounts given by our people who were there, it was a great addition to our display. Nicely done!!!

                            Awesome car. It looks great.

Pretty sweet that you got a spot in the Meguiar's display as well.
