Thank you for the information. It will never be in my town lol.

        Whoa! Huh? What?

The Meguiar's promo squad shows up AFTER a sales increase? And the reward for the local Walmart is a parking lot clogged with people sitting next to their cars and not shopping inside? I'd love to meet the Meguiar's marketing expert who thought this up. Seriously. It has to be a relative of the boss. No, he's got his own detailing products company. Maybe somebody's wife?

I thought Walmart was doing Meguiar's a favor!

        Sadly, that's Obamanomics!

It's not like I have BBA and MBA or anything. What do I know?

          Greg,

Didn't you win the best engine award? LOL LOL LOL

Thanks for posting these pics! I have my own but have been sooo busy with camp starting and a few details in the mix.

Maybe I'll post them tonight. I'll also include the shots of trying out the PE14!

            STG,

Can't tell by your tone if you are being sarcastic or not.

Looks like a win-win to me. WalMart gets a parking lot full of people who may or may not have visited the WalMart that day and that big shiny semi with the huge products on top may have attracted some other folks.

Meguiar's gets additional brand recognition, with the able bodied assistance from good folks like Greg and Shawn.

Actually a win-win-win as those folks probably spent money at local restaurants and other businesses that day/night.

But then again, what do I know. I don't have any alphabet soup after my name.

            Thanks again, Greg.

              I forgot. I also have a Bf.d.

              No, I'm not being sarcastic.

I didn't write anything negative about any people who staffed or helped put the event together. I didn't write that the event was a bad idea. I wrote having the event at the store that doesn't need any help selling Meguiar's is truly Car Crazy.

From a marketing perspective, "rewarding" the highest volume Meguiar's location with a marketing event is......

              1. The purpose of marketing is to increase sales.

              2. The selected location already has the highest increased sales.

              3. Meguiar's would do better going to the LOWEST volume Walmart to find NEW CUSTOMERS.

Nobody mentioned how many cars were at the Secaucus event. If 250 cars (the minimum number we've had at cars shows in the past) show up, and the average Walmart is 100,000 sq.ft.:

Five parking spaces per 1,000 sq.ft.building typical requirement.

              100,000 sq.ft. Walmart has 500 parking spaces.

250 entrants plus big rig plus staff vehicles plus tent, etc. = 300 spaces used.

60% of Walmart parking occupied by event. And that's if entrants park 3 feet from each other in regular spaces.

How much additional parking for show attendees? 50? 100?

Traffic flow impact for normal Walmart customers? How many will see the crowds and shop somewhere else?

The average car show participant or attendee will not spend 15% of the average Walmart weekend customer.

25 or 50 exhibitors, no problem. If you want to have a real car show like we've had here in Cody, Wyoming - that's a different story. Then again, what's the point of bringing out the big rig for a 50 car show unless it's at the Pasadena Art Design College?

Again with the condescending and insulting remarks?

Yes, this was the reward for a job well done during a promotion that involved a friendly competition among all WalMart stores. The folks in Secaucus, NJ just happened to take the prize. And generally the prize is given after the goal has been reached, isn't it?

And we have yet to meet a store manager who was upset because he gained recognition and praise for doing an outstanding job, or one who complains because, at no cost to him, an event is staged on his property that brings recognition, and people, to his store.

For you to even hint that anything we do here is rooted in nepotism is downright insulting. But insulting members of this forum seems to be your thing. Sadly, you won't get that opportunity any longer. Too bad your registered email address is no longer valid or you would have gotten our email regarding same.

To everyone else on the forum, our apologies for airing this publicly, but STG left us no choice. His email address is no longer valid and we had no other way of communicating this to him. We hope this ends this particular bit of the discussion.

The support is appreciated guys, but let's move on. We don't need to say anything negative about anyone - what's done is done and we have more important things to discuss.

                          Dear Meguiars:

Please consider coming to Massachusetts to do a "time to shine" show... we are certifiably "car crazy", with cruise nights just about every day of the week from May until Labor Day and beyond!

There is a huge cruise night every Thursday (with over 400+ cars average!) at Patriot Place in Foxborough, home of the New England Patriots.
