How can you remove the corrosion marks that are left after wheel weights are removed. The wheels are coated aluminum.

I've got a bad bit of aluminum corrosion under the clear from a wheel weight as well.
They're Ford factory rims on a 2000 Explorer.
Not really sure how to address it.
I know the clear has to come off to remove the powdery white aluminum below.
Just don't know if it would be worse to try and fix it or just leave it alone.
I know there's no "fix" to make it look new.
Just want to do what will be best for stopping it from getting worse.
