How to get the Best effect on a Non Metallic White Car

Hi

I have a Non Metallic Olympic White Chevrolet Spark 1.2LT

It is 5 months old & I have not done any paint protection after delivery.

There are no scratches on the car.

But I wanted to do a paint protection & shine job on the car for long term protection.

Can you recommend me how to go about it.
Most of the threads I found on net were mainly for the darker cars & hence this thread

I will not be in a position to use any power tools & also keep in mind that the range of products available in India are limited to only the popular items

Would you have:

1. Wash - Gold Class Soap, 2 buckets, good mitt/towels.
2. Clay - Smooth Surface Clay kit
3. Cleaner/Wax - Either ColorX, Cleaner/Wax (red bottle), #6, #66
4. Wax - Nxt 2.0

Dealing with white isnt different from other colors.

Anything you've seen with regard to working on dark colored cars will still work on your white car. Just don't expect white to ever really show the depth and richness that black can. That doesn't mean you can't get white to shine brilliantly, it just doesn't have the same character that black does.

The simple routine Mat offers above is a good one, and NXT Tech Wax 2.0 is a great choice for a white car as it imparts a very bright and crisp shine to the finish.

for white cars I prefer 3m performance sealant. A sealant gives a high gloss shinny look on lighter cars. A wax on white cars will be a warm glow that will attract dust/dirt. Sealants don't attract as much dust/pollen. I think waxes look best on darker colour cars, gives real depth and shine. I wouldn't bother with a glaze on a white car, also you won't need a buffer if your car is already scratch free. its hard to ever see scratches on a white car.

I would also do weekly optimum no rinse washes. Its quick and easy and will give a just waxed look every time.

I have ordered this kit from Amazon as recommended by you.

But I find in the reviews on the Amazon site, that there is no instruction booklet to advise the user on the sequence of using the various products for optimal results.

I shall be grateful if you could provide me the same.

The prices are all over the place for the kits and things.

The Complete Car Kit one is nice, but not sure I'd want those exact products. But still a good price for the towels, clay, etc even with the ScratchX and older Gold Class wax.

White is always a challenge- not so much because it's a different process, but maybe just psychologically, as you don't get that massive in-your-head "pop" of "wow, that looks incredible..." like you would with darker paint, as mentioned.

However, you don't have that in-your-head thought of "wow, I have to detail this again already...?" you experience with dark car ownership doesn't get you nearly as often, either...

I have 2010 6 month old Nissan frontier KK white truck. Used UW last week doing two coats and still don't have the bright shine I once had from using a pure carnauba wax. Need help in getting a bright deep shine on the truck
I have tried M's reflection and still did not get the great results that I want. Any help, please. I like seeing it shine bright in the bright Hawaiian sun

Good point- the prep before the wax is of utmost importance on white...


This is a 1995 Explorer, 230k+ miles, after clay, UC, and 2 coats of NXT.

I would start from scratch. Wash the vehicle. Clay it to get the finish smooth. Then really look at it from every angle and see if you have fine swirl marks that are dulling the finish. If so use something like Ultimate compound to remove them. Either way next apply a polish, Ultimate polish or #7. Follow that with your Ultimate wax. If that isn't shiny enough take off your sunglasses.
