    What is happening to my paint?

    I am starting to play around with improving the looks of my 97 Jeep Cherokee. I did a trial run on the hood with the clay bar and followed up with the cleaner wax that came in the kit. Later I noticed two spots like this on the hood. Is this the beginnings of clear coat failure? I am intending to use Ultimate Compound on the car when I really get into it. If I can't repair it do you think I can at least prevent it from getting worse with regular waxing. I will be working by hand. Thanks

    It seems to be the start of clear coat failure. Short of a repaint there is no fix for it.

      That was what I was I was thinking. Well, at least it is just the hood at this point. Thanks for the info.
