    Re: Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax

Well I realize I am a little late to this game

I picked up a gallon jug from Detailing.com my gotoplace this afternoon
having a instore retail location 10 minutes from my house, that stocks pretty much EVERY Meguiars product has been damaging to the pocket book but the car has loved the results

earlier today I wiped down the car with last touch just removing the light film of dust on the car, but then today we had a SWORM of bees
my car got hit hard with all that pollen off the bees
tons and tons of yellow spots
I said o well it is time for a shopping trip 3 exits down on the 5 south

I did a full correction and 2 coats of Ultimate wax I think 2 weeks ago
I came home and wash the car then completely dried it with my water magnet
then I went panel by panel with the product, spray, move product around, dry surface

O ya I also used it on my wheels
clean wheels with old microfiber, rinse off,dry to get most of the water, spray with Spray wax, completely dry wheel

Next time I do a wash Im going to
wash, rinse, flood, mist with Spray wax, dry with water magnet
It will be interesting to see how the results come out

O ya PS Thank you Nick Winn for your help on the techline this afternoon

Apologies if this was alreayd answered.

I enjoy using UQW after most car washes (especially the winter ONR hand washings or the drive-through paint abusers). What is the shelf life in a climate controlled closet for Xpress Syth Spray Wax D156? What is the lowest tempurate it can be applied at (think outdoors in the winter, maybe a nice sunny day but still cold).

          Re: Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax

Shelf life should be a couple years.

I applied it at 40F over the weekend, and all seemed well.

            Re: Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax

As with all of our products, shelf life should be in the range of 3 to 5 years, as long as it doesn't freeze and it's not exposed to high temps for prolonged periods of time. Here in SoCal it's not uncommon for products to be left in a garage that might reach temps just over 100F for several days at a time and that's rarely a problem. Leaving the same product in your car for all that time is a different story as the interior of a car can easily exceed 150F on very hot days.

Freezing is a different story. Generally speaking, a single freeze is usually enough to kill most products. Always give the product a good shake before use and if you ever notice that it has separated, become lumpy, or has a terrible smell, it's gone bad.

Usage temperature range is generally in the 55F to 100F range, give or take. Many people have commented that they've gotten excellent results from various products at temperatures near freezing, but we don't really expect that to be the norm. But even if the ambient temp is in the 40s, if the sun is shining and the car is out in that sunshine, Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax and it's consumer cousin, Ultimate Quik Wax, should be very usable.

                            Hello all,

I finally picked up some D156 for use as my drying aid to reduce any drying induced marring and some added protection.

Question: How do I use it? Just mist the panel AND the damp towel and wipe? So essentially D156 will be on two areas, the towel itself and on the paint...

                            OR

Use it like Ammo Hydrate with just 2 sprays on a damp towel and wipe? So it will only be on the towel.

I am using it as a drying aid (i.e. semi wet car) and not as a spray wax.

                            Thank you

For a dry surface. Prep your towel with a mist or two of product to prime the towel the first time. After the first time you won't need to prime the towel. Then mist the surface and work it in with the towel. For smaller areas you can spray onto the towel and apply to the surface (ie mirrors). This way you avoid overspray. Have a second towel to buff off any residue.

As a drying aid, flood rinse the surface to remove a majority of the water. This is assuming you have a layer of protection already since a majority of the water will be removed from the surface. Mist onto the surface with the remaining water. I prime my drying towel the first time with a spritz of product. Follow up with another towel to buff off any remaining residue.

Try it both ways. It will be more durable used on a dry surface.

Thank you Guz! You have been extremely helpful thus far bud, appreciate it.

Following with a dry towel is the only part that scares me as I wonder if thats what caused the marring in the first place. However, I will try with and without a follow up towel, as all I can do now is experiment.

I thought about applying it dry but I bought it for the main purpose of helping with drying, i.e. applying to semi wet surface.

                                Thanks again bud
