UP on a white CCS pad then UW on top. Exactly what I was looking for! Cant wait

This product looks like a winner! With the disappearance of Deep Crystal Cleaner there's been a gap in the Meguiar's lineup. I know that SwirlX was intended to fill this gap, yet I suspect that it has not done so. And now we have Ultimate Polish, which will function both as a fine paint cleaner and a glaze. This will be a product that enthusiasts will be able to eager to use several times a year. Well done!

SwirlX has had an interesting life thus far. It is more widely available than Ultimate Compound yet UC outsells it by a huge margin. We believe this just proves that idea that most people tend to grab the most aggressive product they can find in the hopes it will get the job done faster.
Ultimate Polish is not only a very different product to SwirlX, but it's obviously being positioned a bit differently as well. Rather than a less aggressive alternative to UC it's being looked at as a compliment or follow up to UC. SwirlX was never really looked upon that way in the market place. Obviously Ultimate Polish can be used as a light cleaner, or for use on very delicate paint systems, when UC is more aggressive than needed.

So then what I'm gathering is this product is basically a touch less aggressive then Swirl-X, and contains a healthy dose of polishing oils?
Michael,
Whenever I use M205 either by itself or in combination with M105, I always finish down with Menzerna 85RD. How do you see Ultimate Polish fitting into this scenario? Is it designed as a direct competitor to 85RD? If so could you list the pros/cons re replacing 85RD with Ultimate Polish?
Another step I’ve recently added (from a recommendation) after using 85RD and a final IPA wipe down is to use Chemical Guy’s Ez-Crème Glaze as a cleaner/prepper/bonding agent before applying a sealant. Not only is Ez-Crème all of the above but it leaves an incredibly glossy/slick surface. If UP would achieve all of the above it would be extremely useful.
It might be wishful thinking, but it could be nice to eliminate at least one of those steps.
Any word on using this on a light color? I know other polishes do not show much.
That's a pretty accurate statement.
Don't lose sight of the fact that Ultimate Polish is a consumer product designed for use by D/A or hand. It is not a rotary compatible product. If you're using a rotary and looking for maximum refinement then M205 is probably still the better choice. The finish left by Ultimate Polish feels much like that left by M07, M81 or other pure polishes - it's very glossy but has that bit of a grab on the towel due to the level of polishing oils in it.
From the perspective of the polishing oils alone it isn't going to yield anything very different from other pure polishes. But since it utilizes SMAT abrasives it can increase the clarity of the finish much the way M205 does, especially when used with a D/A. That can be very beneficial on lighter colors as it helps achieve a nice crisp finish.
