    Re: Wheel Polishing Kit

I remember seeing this thread some time ago and I forgot about this product. I wonder why I have not seen it much. I could definitely for both set of my mesh rims. Those are a PAIN to clean.

Good question. I too would wonder what to use on a rim that has a polished lip and a painted face.

Tell us a bit more about these wheels - are the spokes painted or powder coated? Is the lip bare metal or clear coated? If everything is painted and clear coated then our Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner should be safe on them. One of my cars has aftermarket wheels with painted spokes and polished lips, but the entire wheel is clear coated and I've used All Wheel Cleaner and even Wheel Brightener on them with no problems.

If your spokes are powder coated and/or the lips are bare metal, then either stick with our Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner or just soap and water. If the lip is NOT clear coated then a metal polish should be used to bring gloss up to a maximum level, but if they have a clear coat a metal polish is a poor choice and you're better off with just a light paint cleaner when needed and a bit of wax.

    dc2 - see below:

can i use quik detailer on them no matter what they are? Yes, of course.

i do not know how do i determine if the lip is bare or clearcoated and also about the spokes One way is to try polishing the lip. If your cloth or pad goes black, that means there is metal being transferred onto it and thus the lip is bare metal with no clearcoat. If the lip is clearcoated, you'll see no colour transfer onto your cloth/pad.

can u use lightcleaner n wax on the spokes? Yes, of course.

    I hope that helps

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

    No problem.

You could even try with a paint cleaner type polish e.g. SwirlX, M205 etc. The same rules as above would apply...

    Re: Wheel Polishing Kit

Can I use the Mag & Aluminum Polish with the cone for non-coated aluminum wheels? Or will the All Metal Polish work fine?
